here’s one for the records: legendary photographer mario testino obligingly said “yes, of course!” last night and smiled when i asked to take his photo at a party in hollywood. five minutes later when i asked natalie portman the same question she just nodded and said “i’d rather not.” um, go figure.

one of the most interesting things about architect john lautner was for me, not so much the homes he designed, but moreso the fact that he resided in some humble hollywood apartment for the majority of his career in los angeles whilst his clientele were living large in these crazy spaces. the man maketh the moment. to see what i mean click HERE
