ACMI is one of my most beloved haunts here in melbourne, and so when i heard about a scheduled jeanne moreau festival you can imagine my reaction (read: ultra-chuffed). last night was a pre-screening of francois truffaut’s 1968 classic “THE BRIDE WORE BLACK” and for anyone that hasn’t seen it, i urge you to do so. boasting one of the most badass female leads ever written (think kill bill x new wave), moreau seeks revenge in a wardrobe of astounding black & white get-ups playing the part of hitwoman extraordinaire, seeking revenge all in the name of love. truffaut strikes again x moreau pour toujours…
