and to think it actually ended with a rainbow! the second leg of my dreamy adventure was spent at the sheraton maui resort and spa and from the resident sea turtles at the resort’s private beach to the sounds of ‘sleep walk’ by ritchie valens consistently echoing from the hotel elevator, i can truly describe my stay at this hotel as otherworldly. scrolling through these images i can literally taste the ice blended margaritas and recall the awe upon witnessing the welcoming origami elephant towels on my bed each night. a special mention must go to the viennese beauty guru that shaped my eyebrows like nobody’s business at the resort spa (pampering is her specialty and she ensured i was in the right state of mind for the flight back to L.A following a few hours of buffing, exfoliating and more). i think the personalized polaroid (taken at a nearby shopping mall) says it all in regards to this adventure. and when i thought it couldn’t possibly get any better just moments before hopping into a cab en route to the airport, one of the hotel staff members pointed to a rainbow (that literally appeared out of nowhere) and said “we hope you enjoyed your stay miss allen, and as a maholo to you we organized this. we hope to see you again soon.” i’m not kidding! i’ve already booked for my return trip to maui: a very, very special place that might just be heaven on earth.
