i’m not what you would call a huge fan of a brand like jimmy choo but dedgummit, than might be about to change following their latest ad campaign created by the awe-inspiring artist marilyn minter. i want my shoes to spritz liquid gold when i walk dammit!

a big-up thanks to my fantastic friend abe and his pre-screening invite of carrie fisher’s soon-to-be-launched HBO documentary ‘wishful drinking.’ thirty minutes into it fisher – aka the 54 year-old hollywood legend who continues to live the legacy of princess leia – lectures her way through a ‘hollywood 101 class’ explaining her family ties to stardom – pure brilliance filled with belly laughs galore. seriously recommended viewing.

an excerpt from the incredibly inspiring essay penned by emerson on the importance of self-reliance: “What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think. You will always find those who think they know what is your duty better than you know it. It is easy in the world to live after the world’s opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.”
