This one is for all of my Melbourne readers: check the ACMI site for upcoming screening times of IN VOGUE: THE EDITOR’S EYE – a 60-minute spectacle fine-tuning the art of pulling together an image for Anna Wintour’s approval and American Vogue. Highlights include a former-editor proclaiming disdain over a recent Lady Gaga cover, Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele waxing lyrical on why the above cover isn’t such a big deal to her (contrary to fashion history), and a fascinating spotlight on sittings editor Phyllis Posnick (for a change). She’s been on the U.S Vogue mastheads for years and together with fashion greats including Richard Avedon and Irving Penn has produced some of the magazine’s most poignant still-life shots (witness the brilliance below). Bring on the Phyllis Posnick praise, I say! Recommended viewing.
