air france VS delta: i know who i’d rather fly with!

kudos to air france for having the balls to incorporate illustration into their relatively recent marketing campaign. i thought it superbly-cheeky of the art director of this week’s new yorker magazine to place these competing airline advertisements just pages within one another. as if you needed another reason to opt for air france over delta (no competition, hello?), this creative should pretty much seal the deal, even if a few hundred dollars are at stake. delta evidently is targeting the mainstream by settling for a boring line like “sleep is not a perk.” air france on the other hand take the clever route by opting to inject humor, individuality and irony introducing a metaphor about tranquility. vive la france!!

happy birthday GF!!!!

friends come and go in this life but when you have that very special pal that has been beside you for over twenty years, well, that’s the stuff that magic is made of. for me its the fantastic lainie, who is currently still celebrating her birthday in australia as my fingers continue to tap these keys (it was her birthday yesterday). marlene dietrich once famously said “it is the friends you call at 4 A.M. that matter.” here’s to you GF, an amazing pal (even if you don’t like purple!!) xxxxx
