if you haven’t seen this doco on legendary music innovator ahmet ertegun then i’m urging you to get jiggy and find it ASAP. what a life! straight out of istanbul, over sixty years ago, he headed directly to harlem to seek out the music that made him beam. aretha franklin aka lady soul, bette midler and ray charles might not have reached superstar status without him. the same could be said a string of others. anyway, you know the atlantic records story…and dad, if you are reading this, i’ve just bought you a copy for christmas ;)
