hello holly flora…
who scored flowers this year? not i she said. on this bloody annoying hallmark holiday that prompts single ladies to feel like chopped liver, here’s hoping if you are among the many who did receive a bouquet that the floral arrangement came with a card from los angeles-based company HOLLY FLORA (absolutely, positively the best in da’ biz).
shout-out to raven wilkinson…
dancer raven wilkinson was the only african american member of the ballet russes de monte carlo in the 1950s. she toured for several seasons across america with the company until threats from members of the ku klux klan forced her departure. in 1967 she fled to holland and became a soloist with the dutch national ballet. she returned to new york city in 1974 and to this day is a permanent member of the new york city opera where she regularly performs character parts…hats off to you raven wilkinson!!
