you don’t get this unless you’ve had yourself a lifetime of experience and said goodbye to chemical colors. i’m all for that grace coddington look and all, but really, how cool is this? maxi-cool!

if this girl isn’t a model then there is definately something wrong as when i snapped this a few days ago in london, she immediately turned on the poise, the expression, the posture, everything for the camera. as soon as the shot was taken she transformed into a very, very shy young lady and hurried off on her way. anyone who can turn it on and off like that has gotta be a pro at their game. there are plenty of things i like about this from the high-waisted jeans to the brooch on the grey cardigan. what i’m curious about however, is whatever is in that bag of hers? a change of clothes as part of an alias perhaps? proof in point: sometimes the mystery of the subject matter makes the picture itself…

i first met the ultra-dynamic sheeks in new york earlier this month and was pretty much instantly blown away by this girl’s energy and super-savvy perceptions of all that happens around her on a day to day basis. here she is below, strutting her stuff on the street’s of harlem. think smart-ass with a twist and a razor-sharp witt. case in point: check her blog HERE

pretty lady here amanda is part of the reason why my postings have been in hiatus mode over the past few days. i’ve been in nyc working on a nike project interviewing kids about the status of street wear today, and the results are a heavy-handed mix of ego and eccentricity (more to follow soon).
